Sometimes we travel with pets, and the airlines have rules on how to do it. But there are times when Fido or Miss Kitty just can't make the trip. For those times, you can at least take them as far as the airport, if yours is among the nine listed below with pet boarding facilities.
Jacksonville International Airport
Pet Paradise
Pet Paradise, located right on the airport property, offers 24/7 pickups and drop-offs by appointment. The facility features webcams so you can see your pets, indoor/outdoor suites, a synthetic grass play area, a shaded play yard, cat condos and a bone-shaped swimming pool. There are also locations at Orlando International Airport, Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, Charlotte Douglas International Airport, Houston George Bush Intercontinental and Houston Hobby.
Philadelphia International Airport
Philadelphia Pet Hotel & Villa
Philadelphia Pet Hotel & Villas, located near the airport, offers kitty condos and doggy suites to take care of your pets while you're away. If you really want to spoil Fido, you can upgrade to one of the facility's 18 plush doggy villas, which have queen-size beds and 32-inch televisions. Your pets can participate in group or private play, or take advantage of services in the facility's grooming salon. If you choose to park at the pet hotel, the cost is only $3.99 a day.

Vancouver International Airport

JetPet @YVR, right next to the airport and the McArthur Glen outdoor mall, offers daycare, overnight, or an extended stay services for cats and dogs. The facility has 15,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor boarding, courtyards, lounges, and spa amenities. It also has a central courtyard with dog toys and customized play equipment. Two outdoor courtyards have running space, seasonal pools, misters, and climbing frames. The facility is open from 6:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Chicago O'Hare International and Chicago Midway airports
Paradise 4 Paws
Both locations of Paradise 4 Paws are staffed 24 hours a day seven days a week, so travelers can pick up and drop off their pets at their convenience. Services available include overnight and daycare, a spa, grooming, vet care, dog training, massage therapy and parking. There are also locations at Dallas/Fort Worth International and Denver International airports.

Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport
Now Boarding
The Now Boarding facility allows you to drop off your pets, park your car and take a free shuttle to the airport. And when you come home, they will pick you up and bring you to your pet and car, with service available 24 hours a day. Services available include overnight boarding, dog training and spa treatments including grooming, massage, nail trims and a pet therapy pool. And the services are available even if you're not traveling.
San Francisco International Airport
The Pawington
The Pawington is a 23,000 square foot pet resort less than a mile away from the airport. It offers 10 different types of boarding suites and settings, from the slumber party setting to the Grand Master Suite. if you're dropping off your pet for the day, the facility offers three different settings with animal handlers. You can get your dogs and cats groomed at the Pawington's spa. And you can park your car at the facility for free.

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport
Hillrose Pet Resort
Hillrose Pet Resort, located just south of the airport, offers three sizes of dog enclosures, multiple cat space options and executive suites via drop-ins or reservations. It also offers pet daycare. Each dog enclosure has a private, indoor, climate-controlled sleeping area. It also accepts exotic animals, requiring customers to bring a cage and food. There are also grooming services and an outdoor grassy play area for dogs. And airport employees get a 15 percent off all services.
John Glenn Columbus International Airport
Pet Palace Columbus Airport offers oversized heated and air conditioned villas and suites for cats and dogs. There are outdoor play areas that allow pets to get fresh air and exercise and workers give animals multiple outdoor bathroom breaks. It also offers grooming, pet daycare, health monitoring and record keeping, administering of medications, group and individual playtime and special food treats.

Denver International Airport
Club Pet Resorts, which bills itself as Colorado's first luxury pet spa, is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week for 365 days a year, so pets can be picked up or dropped off anytime, day or night. Pet parents can check on their animals anytime, thanks to webcams that connect to the facility's website. And travelers can park their car at the resort and get a free shuttle ride to and from the airport, located 10 minutes away.
